Time management secrets of successful working moms.
Just two days after this book arrived, I’m already halfway through—and I can’t put it down. Laura not only shares fresh, practical time-management strategies (not the same old advice we’ve all heard before), but she also brings an uplifting perspective to the “having it all” conversation. Instead of dwelling on what we might be missing, she encourages us to celebrate our choices and use our creativity to fit more of what truly matters into our weeks. It’s a refreshing, inspiring take—and an absolute must-read!
2.Stretched Too Thin – Jessica N. Turner https://amzn.to/3XoOVMt
Let go of guilt, work smarter, and create balance.
Jessica N. Turner’s Stretched Too Thin is a practical and encouraging guide for working moms striving to balance career, family, and personal well-being. With warmth and relatability, Turner acknowledges the challenges many women face—overwhelm, guilt, and exhaustion—while offering actionable strategies to manage responsibilities without losing themselves in the process.
The book covers key aspects of a working mom’s life, including time management, self-care, relationships, and setting boundaries. Turner emphasizes that balance doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly but rather making intentional choices that align with personal values. She encourages moms to let go of guilt, delegate more, and create space for their own needs—reminding them that taking care of themselves isn’t selfish but essential.
One of the book’s strengths is its blend of research, real-life stories, and practical exercises. Turner’s tone is reassuring, as she reminds readers that they are not alone in their struggles. She offers tips on managing household duties more efficiently, finding joy in both work and parenting, and making room for meaningful self-care—even in a busy schedule.
While some of the advice may be familiar, Turner’s empathetic approach and realistic strategies make this book a valuable resource for moms feeling stretched too thin. It’s an uplifting reminder that thriving is possible with the right mindset and habits.
3.168 Hours – Laura Vanderkam https://amzn.to/4ilFJAn
Reclaim your time by tracking where it really goes.
When I read this book, I learned so many things that about time management that have changed how I see and use my time. Just the simple idea of tracking your time for a week, to really see where it’s going is brilliant. You do that with money and calories, why not your time? Then the way Ms. Vanderkam lays out a plan of how use the information you just learned from tracking your time to determine your core competencies and then put the time that you do have to be best use to achieve your goals has been so helpful. I learned that I waste so much time at work, since much of what I do involves waiting for other people. Now I use that time to move forward with my own goals until I have a chance to work again. I have crossed things off from my To Do List that have been there for years!!!
